TLDR Review: Klipsch The One Plus Speaker
Verdict
*Klipsch The One Plus Walnut* is a beautiful, well-crafted speaker that impresses with its warm, powerful sound and versatile connectivity, perfect for those who want a premium tabletop speaker with classic style and modern tech. However, if you need true portability, Wi-Fi streaming, or integrated playback controls, this might feel a bit limiting. For a similar classic aesthetic but with Wi-Fi and voice assistant features, you may also want to explore alternatives like the Sonos One or Bose Home Speaker series to see if those fit your smart home needs better.
- Top pro:
- Exceptional sound quality with rich, punchy bass and clear vocals across various music genres, delivering crisp, warm mid highs and tight lows.
- Top con:
- Not truly portable as it requires constant power from an outlet for optimal use; battery while respectable, is secondary.

- •Simple, tactile controls including a volume roller with precise feel and a source button; complemented by the Klipsch Connect app offering customizable equalizer presets and sound adjustments.

- •Performs well with wired inputs such as record players, delivering clear, crackle-free sound with authentic vinyl warmth.
- •Automatically powers on/off when detecting input devices for convenient use.
- •Compact yet solid build quality weighing about 8 pounds, balancing portability for tabletop placement with premium materials.
Cons
- •Not truly portable as it requires constant power from an outlet for optimal use; battery while respectable, is secondary.
- •Lacks Wi-Fi streaming capabilities, relying solely on Bluetooth and wired inputs, which may limit smart home integration.
- •No playback controls (play/pause, skip) on the unit itself; users must control these functions via connected devices or the app.
- •Initial Windows 11 connection can be problematic, requiring users to disable certain system settings (Intel Smart Sound Technology) for Bluetooth functionality.
- •The speaker is more suited for casual or enthusiast listeners rather than audiophiles seeking high-end, reference-level sound.
- •Value proposition is somewhat questioned by some users when compared to traditional bookshelf speakers paired with amplifiers, especially outside of sales or deals.
- •No included remote control, meaning app or device control is necessary from a distance.
- •Battery life is decent but could be better for extended unplugged use.
- •Bluetooth range maxes out around the advertised 40 feet, which may fall short in larger spaces.
- •Lacks advanced streaming or voice assistant features found in some competitors.
