TLDR Review: JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 Earbuds
Verdict
The JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 earbuds deliver impressive sound quality, solid ANC, and impressive battery life tailored for active users who want reliable performance during workouts and daily use. If you value customizable audio, a secure fit, and solid durability in true wireless earbuds without breaking the bank, these are a strong choice. However, if flawless touch control responsiveness or industry-leading noise cancellation is a must-have, you might want to explore other options. For example, if you seek stronger ANC or more robust app support, comparing other premium workout earbuds could be beneficial. Overall, these earbuds are a worthwhile investment for fitness enthusiasts who appreciate premium sound and long battery life with decent noise cancellation.
- Top pro:

- Top con:
- Some users report occasional audio cutouts or connectivity hiccups during movement, which can be frustrating during workouts.
Pros
- •Exceptional sound quality with rich, deep bass and crisp, clear highs that stand out even compared to previous JLab models.
- •Long-lasting battery life: earbuds deliver around 6 hours per charge and the charging case provides multiple additional charges, holding power well over days and weeks.
- •Effective Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that blocks about 90% of outside noise and includes a useful aware mode to stay aware of surroundings without removing earbuds.
- •Comfortable and secure fit designed especially for workouts and long runs, with custom ear tips improving comfort and staying firmly in place even during intense activity.
- •Durable build quality that withstands drops and heavy use, making these earbuds a reliable companion for active lifestyles.
- •Full suite of on-ear controls, including volume control on both earbuds, which is a rare but welcome feature in this price range.
- •Google Fast Pair makes Bluetooth connection quick and simple, enhancing user convenience.
- •Sleek, low-profile design that fits well inside helmets and pockets alike.
- •Customizable sound settings through the JLab app, including a unique "burn-in" feature to fine-tune audio drivers over time for improved sound.
Cons
- •Some users report occasional audio cutouts or connectivity hiccups during movement, which can be frustrating during workouts.
- •Touch controls sometimes have a slight delay (2-3 seconds) and can be unresponsive for certain functions like skip or pause, though volume control is consistently instant.
- •Removing one earbud to pause music can cause a 1-2 second delay or audio overlap when responding in conversations.
- •Rubber ear hooks may crack or show wear over extended use, though this can be managed with care.
- •Noise cancellation is effective but not industry-leading; it reduces background noise but doesn't fully isolate the user in very loud environments.
- •Comfort might be less ideal for glasses wearers as some pressure is applied, although not overly bothersome.
- •The app has some limitations, like not allowing switching disconnect between multiple paired devices smoothly.
- •Some rare reports of units not turning on after charging, possibly related to seller or inventory issues—caution advised when buying from non-official channels, especially in regions without local warranty service.
