TLDR Review: Hisense 75U8QG TV (2025 Model)
Verdict
The Hisense 75" U8 Mini-LED is a powerhouse for anyone wanting a stunningly bright, smooth, and feature-rich 4K TV with excellent sound and gaming capabilities at a competitive price. Its unique USB-C 4K@165Hz input and advanced mini-LED panel make it a strong contender for gamers and sports fans alike. However, if you rely heavily on Amazon Prime Video or want a slimmer, lighter set, or if network stability and privacy are top concerns, you might want to consider alternative models. Still, for upper mid-range buyers seeking a high-performance TV with rich visuals and immersive audio, this Hisense is a compelling choice.
- Top pro:
- Stunning bright and vivid 4K picture quality with deep contrast and natural, not oversaturated colors, even in bright daylight.
- Top con:
- Amazon Prime Video app performance is poor and often forces users to resort to external devices like Firestick.

- •Mini-LED technology delivers clear visuals with superb uniformity and zero backlight defects, avoiding the burn-in risks of OLED.
- •Native 165Hz refresh rate plus Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) of 288 provides silky smooth motion, perfect for fast-paced sports and gaming.
- •Excellent sound from built-in 4.1.2 channel speakers with IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Atmos support, often sufficient without adding external speakers.
- •Google Smart TV platform offers seamless integration with Android devices and voice control, plus easy setup especially with Google account sync.
- •Unique USB-C input supports 4K at 165Hz, a rare feature highly appreciated by PC gamers and power users.
- •HDMI 2.1 inputs and eARC port enhance compatibility with modern AV receivers and consoles, supporting smooth HDMI-CEC input switching.

- •Highly recommended by users for sports, movies, and daytime viewing with minimal glare.
- •Controls and remote casting work better here compared to some major brands, improving streaming experience.
Cons
- •Amazon Prime Video app performance is poor and often forces users to resort to external devices like Firestick.
- •Network setup can be finicky, with persistent Wi-Fi connection reminders and trouble configuring static IP on ethernet.
- •Privacy concerns due to extensive data collection by the TV’s software; disabling internet connection reduces this but limits smart features.
- •Built-in speakers, while excellent for general use, may not satisfy audiophiles who prefer a dedicated soundbar or home theater system.
- •The TV is heavier and thicker than some competitors, which might require a more robust mounting solution or stand.
- •Initial setup and configuration, especially mastering picture and sound settings, can require some patience for best results.
- •Some users have noted that the software UI takes time to get used to despite overall smooth performance.
