TLDR Review: Hisense 55-Inch QD6 Series QLED TV (2025)
Verdict
The Hisense 55-Inch QD6 Series QLED Smart TV is a fantastic choice if you want sharp, vivid 4K HDR picture quality with immersive Dolby Vision and Atmos at a budget-friendly price. It’s particularly great for gamers thanks to VRR and ALLM support, even if it lacks HDMI 2.1 ports. However, its software quirks, intrusive ads, and limited connectivity options might frustrate some users who expect a smoother Smart TV experience. If those points are dealbreakers, or you want smoother app performance and newer Wi-Fi standards, you might want to explore alternatives, but overall, this TV packs a punch for its cost and delivers on the core viewing experience.
- Top pro:
- The Hisense QD6 Series delivers excellent HDR visuals with vivid colors and impressive contrast, making shows, games, and movies truly pop on its 55-inch QLED 4K UHD screen.
- Top con:
- The Fire TV software can be unstable and buggy, with some users experiencing app crashes (notably Hulu and Paramount+), black screen issues that require a TV reboot, and slow or clunky navigation.

Cons
- •The Fire TV software can be unstable and buggy, with some users experiencing app crashes (notably Hulu and Paramount+), black screen issues that require a TV reboot, and slow or clunky navigation.
- •Setup can be frustrating due to poorly documented instructions and the need to register an Amazon account via a code.
- •Frequent and intrusive notifications occur when Game Mode switches automatically, disrupting gaming or computer use.
- •The TV sometimes fails to auto-switch to Game Mode or recognize connected PCs easily, complicating its use as a monitor replacement.
- •Conflicts in color calibration can arise when using the TV as a computer monitor, making fine-tuning colors tricky.
- •No headphone jack on this 55-inch model, which can be a downside for headphone users who want a direct wired option.
- •Wi-Fi 5 connectivity is a bit outdated in 2025, with no Wi-Fi 6 or 6e support, potentially affecting future-proofing and streaming stability.
- •Home screen cluttered with non-optional third-party ads, which eats up valuable screen real estate and annoys users.
- •Sound, while solid for a budget TV, can lack depth and bass for audiophiles; the built-in 16W speakers offer decent surround sound but are no substitute for a dedicated audio setup.
- •Build quality feels basic, and some users report minor wobble even with the stand fully assembled.
