TLDR Review: Halo Collar 5
Verdict
The Halo Collar 5 is a solid choice if you want a wireless dog fence combined with GPS tracking that offers solid safety and peace of mind, especially if your dog is an escape artist and you have a clear, open yard with good cell coverage. Just keep in mind the recurring subscription cost and the GPS accuracy limitations in suburban or heavily wooded areas. If you're looking for advanced location history features or offline functionality, or prefer a collar with a handheld remote for easier training, you might want to consider other GPS collars that excel in those areas.

Cons

- •GPS accuracy can be poor, with a 30-40 feet margin of error, which may limit effectiveness in suburban or densely wooded yards.

- •Needs a strong, reliable cell signal and clear sky view for optimal GPS fencing, limiting use in heavily shaded or remote areas.
- •The app can be functional but lacks intuitiveness, requiring time to learn and manage effectively.
- •Collar does not store location history without cell or WiFi, a feature offered by many cheaper GPS collars.
