TLDR Review: GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 4090 Master 24G Graphics Card
Verdict
The GIGABYTE GV-N4090AORUS M-24GD is a strong contender in the RTX 4090 lineup for gamers who want top-tier performance paired with quiet and efficient cooling. Its substantial 24GB VRAM and flexible BIOS options make it future-proof and adaptable. However, its sizable dimensions and sometimes quirky aesthetics mean you should double-check case compatibility before buying. If you want a slightly smaller or differently styled RTX 4090, you might want to explore alternatives, but for sheer power and cooling, this card is hard to beat.
- Top pro:
- Runs very quietly with minimal to no coil whine, even under load, unlike some competing RTX 4090 models.
- Top con:
- The card is physically very large and thick, requiring careful case and mounting compatibility checks.
Pros
- •Runs very quietly with minimal to no coil whine, even under load, unlike some competing RTX 4090 models.
- •Maintains impressively cool temperatures, averaging mid-50s°C and peaking in the low 60s°C during heavy gaming sessions.
- •Performs on par or slightly better than other RTX 4090 cards, delivering excellent frame rates (around 80-90 FPS) at 4K with ray tracing and DLSS enabled.
- •Undervolting and overclocking can boost performance by roughly 7% while reducing power consumption and temperatures to about 55°C.
- •The 3X WINDFORCE cooling system efficiently keeps both GPU and memory temperatures well controlled and fans quiet.
- •Software for RGB lighting and screen customization works smoothly without conflicts, allowing easy personalization.
- •Solid build quality with sturdy engineering; includes performance and silent BIOS modes for flexible use.
- •Equipped with a massive 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM on a 384-bit interface, providing strong future-proofing for demanding games and applications.
- •Delivers a remarkable leap in gaming visuals and performance compared to previous generation GPUs, offering over 70% better performance than the RTX 2080 Ti.
- •Represents great value relative to other RTX 4090 variants, with a quiet, cool, and powerful package.
Cons
- •The card is physically very large and thick, requiring careful case and mounting compatibility checks.
- •Its asymmetrical horizontal design and LED lighting aesthetics are a bit polarizing and less sleek compared to some rival models.
- •Sometimes arrives with slightly bent radiator fins, likely from manufacturing; while mostly cosmetic and fixable, it can be off-putting.
- •Support bracket design is awkward and might need upgrading or replacement for better stability.
- •Pricier than what some buyers may want, though competitive within the high-end 40-series GPU market.
- •Fan noise can increase noticeably under extreme loads if not using the performance BIOS or custom fan curves.
- •Although very quiet generally, some mild coil whine may appear during loading screens or specific usage scenarios.
- •Large size and weight could pose challenges for smaller PC builds or those with limited airflow options.
