TLDR Review: Galaxy Buds2 Pro
Verdict
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro deliver excellent sound quality and solid noise cancellation that'll satisfy most listeners, with the bonus of seamless Samsung ecosystem integration if you're already in that world. However, if you plan to wear these for marathons or long road trips without access to a charger, the 4-hour battery life will feel like a real limitation—especially with ANC enabled. The fit inconsistencies and occasional falling-out issues mean they may not be your best bet if you need earbuds that stay locked in place during intense workouts. At $229, they're a strong choice for daily use and casual listening on Samsung devices, but if marathon battery life or ultimate security during workouts are dealbreakers for you, it might be worth exploring alternatives.
- Top pro:
- Impressive sound quality — 32% of reviewers raved about this, praising clear, well-balanced audio with customizable EQ that delivers punchy bass and crisp highs across everything from EDM to podcasts. Samsung device owners especially love the Scalable Codec support.
- Top con:
- Battery life falls disappointingly short — 16% of reviewers complained that the ~4 hour per-charge battery is a letdown, especially when active noise cancellation drains it further. You'll need to charge more frequently for extended listening sessions beyond 8 hours.
Pros
- •Impressive sound quality — 32% of reviewers raved about this, praising clear, well-balanced audio with customizable EQ that delivers punchy bass and crisp highs across everything from EDM to podcasts. Samsung device owners especially love the Scalable Codec support.
- •Genuinely comfortable fit — Multiple earbud tip sizes mean 20% of reviewers found these earbuds suitable for all-day wear and intense workouts, with a lightweight design that won't make your ears ache.
- •Effective noise cancellation — According to 20% of reviews, the ANC is highly effective in heavy traffic and coffee shops, even outperforming some higher-priced competitors.
- •Great call quality — 12% of reviewers highlighted crystal clear microphone performance with excellent voice pickup and noise reduction, so your colleagues will actually hear you.
- •Seamless Samsung ecosystem integration — Quick pairing with Galaxy devices and auto-switch feature means jumping between your phone, tablet, and laptop feels effortless.
- •Ambient mode with smart voice detection — Automatically lowers volume and enables passthrough during calls without needing to pause music or remove a bud.
- •IPX7 water resistance — Sweat and splash protection means these won't bail on you during workouts or surprise rainstorms.
- •Bluetooth 5.3 stability — Strong, consistent connections with minimal latency when watching videos.
- •Convenient charging options — Wireless charging support on the case, plus quick top-ups that give you 30-40 minutes of playback from just 15 minutes of charging.
Cons
- •Battery life falls disappointingly short — 16% of reviewers complained that the ~4 hour per-charge battery is a letdown, especially when active noise cancellation drains it further. You'll need to charge more frequently for extended listening sessions beyond 8 hours.
- •These earbuds don't stay put — 16% of users reported they're prone to falling out, with a noticeably less secure fit than previous Galaxy Buds models, making them risky if you're moving around a lot.
- •Silicone tips can be frustrating — They tend to moisten in your ear canal with extended wear and may slide out, and the soft cushions can awkwardly suction themselves to the earpiece, making proper insertion annoying.
- •Fit requires trial and adjustment — They demand careful adjustment during insertion and may not fit comfortably for people with non-standard ear shapes.
- •Weak passive noise isolation without ANC — Without active noise cancellation enabled, you won't block much ambient noise, which defeats the purpose if you're relying on the earbuds alone.
- •360 Audio mode is underwhelming — This feature produces tinny, grainy sound quality and most reviewers agree it's best left disabled.
- •Touch controls are overly sensitive — Accidental touches can pause playback or disconnect calls when you're just adjusting the fit.
- •Voice Detect occasionally misfires — It can activate incorrectly during coughing, yawning, or conversations where there are pauses.
- •Occasional connectivity quirks — Some users reported volume sync issues between the buds and connectivity inconsistencies.
