TLDR Review: EGO Power+ CH2100 Charger
Verdict
The EGO Power+ CH2100 56-Volt Lithium-ion Standard Charger is a dependable, fast charger that works well for users with a variety of EGO Power+ battery sizes and tools. It excels at quick, safe charging with easy-to-monitor LED indicators and solid durability. However, if you’re concerned about maximizing battery lifespan, consider upgrading the internal cooling fan or using proper battery care practices, as heat buildup during charging is a known limitation. Also, if you need to charge multiple batteries rapidly at the same time, this model won’t do it, so you may want to explore models with dual rapid charging capabilities once available. Overall, this charger is a great fit if you want speed, safety, and compatibility wrapped in a sleek, compact design. Just keep in mind the minor cooling drawbacks and lack of dual rapid charging option.
- Top pro:
- Charges EGO Power+ batteries very quickly, significantly reducing downtime between uses.
- Top con:
- Only equipped with a single fan for cooling, which may cause the battery to heat up during charging and potentially shorten battery life.

Cons
- •Only equipped with a single fan for cooling, which may cause the battery to heat up during charging and potentially shorten battery life.
- •No dual rapid charger available, so you cannot charge two batteries simultaneously at top speed (dual regular chargers exist but lack rapid charging).
- •The single fan cooling system is considered insufficient for optimal battery longevity, especially for slow charging cycles.
- •Modifying the charger by adding a second, high-quality fan can improve cooling but requires minor electronic skills and patience to disassemble and reassemble the unit.
- •The charger’s voltage and plug type (110V 60Hz US plug) are not clearly indicated upfront on the website.
- •Slightly louder fan noise compared to previous models, though not bothersome for most users.
