TLDR Review: EGO LM2156SP Lawn Mower
Verdict
If you’re looking for a powerful, quiet, and versatile cordless mower with convenient self-propelled features and dual blades, the EGO Power+ LM2156SP performs impressively—especially for small to medium yards. However, the motor’s reliance on battery power is a double-edged sword: battery life and replacement costs may frustrate heavier users or those with larger lawns. If battery longevity worries you, and you don’t need the self-propel feature as much, considering a simpler model might save money and hassle in the long run. For the best balance of power and battery performance without self-propulsion quirks, you might want to explore other cordless mowers specifically praised for battery durability.
- Top pro:
- Provides plenty of power and delivers strong cutting performance, capable of handling thick, even wet grass.
- Top con:
- Battery life tends to degrade quickly, and rapid charging can reduce battery lifespan, requiring frequent and costly replacements.

Cons
- •Battery life tends to degrade quickly, and rapid charging can reduce battery lifespan, requiring frequent and costly replacements.
- •Using the self-propelled mode significantly drains battery power.
- •The rear grass collection flap design can be awkward, dragging during reversing and maneuvering around obstacles.
- •The mower sometimes leaves uneven "mohawk-like" stripes, indicating inconsistent cut quality in some conditions.
- •Heavier and harder to push compared to some non-self-propelled or gas models.
- •Warranty coverage is limited and may not fully protect against common issues.
- •Some users find the mower over-engineered with excessive plastic parts potentially affecting durability.
- •Clumping of grass can occur if mulching blade height isn’t adjusted properly before mowing.
