TLDR Review: Dyson V15 Detect Plus Vacuum
Verdict
The Dyson V15 Detect Plus is a powerhouse cordless vacuum with innovative features like laser dust detection and adaptive suction that make cleaning both visual and effective, especially for pet owners and mixed floor types. However, potential buyers should be cautious about battery longevity and Dyson’s challenging customer support experience—particularly if purchasing outside official retailers. If you want robust pet hair removal and high-tech cleaning in a handheld format but seek even easier service and battery reliability, consider looking into competing models with more straightforward support options. For pure power and tech-savvy cleaning, this is a premium choice worth considering.
- Top pro:
- Exceptionally powerful suction (240AW) that effortlessly picks up dust, pet hair, and hidden dirt on both hard floors and carpets.
- Top con:
- Battery issues reported, including failures within six months and lack of coverage under warranty if purchased from third-party sellers, leading to expensive out-of-pocket replacements.

- •Effective detangling of pet hair without clogging the brush, a big plus for pet owners.

- •The vacuum converts easily to a handheld, expanding its cleaning versatility for above-floor tasks.
- •Motorbar attachment is strong and handles medium to heavy pile carpets well, although it requires more effort to push on thicker carpets.

- •Dyson’s customer service can be frustrating to access, relying heavily on automated systems and email rather than direct phone support.
- •The motorized brush designed primarily for carpets can be harder to push on smooth floors; users need the green light brush for better cleaning and maneuverability on hard surfaces.

- •Carpet motorhead is powerful but not as easy to push, requiring more physical effort in some cases.
