TLDR Review: Dyson HP07 Air Purifier
Verdict
The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool™ HP07 is a stylish, multi-functional powerhouse for indoor air quality and temperature control, especially suited for those who want a high-tech solution in a compact package. Its advanced sensors and effective heating/air purification make it a smart pick for small to medium rooms and allergy concerns. However, its hefty price and some persistent reliability and noise issues mean it’s not the perfect fit for everyone, especially if full app-based heat control or ultra-quiet fan use while sleeping is a priority. If you want something more affordable or with fewer tech quirks, consider exploring other high-quality air purifiers or standalone heaters, but if versatility and smart monitoring matter most, this Dyson model stands tall.
- Top pro:
- Combines air purifier, heater, and fan into one sleek, space-saving device for year-round use.
- Top con:
- The price is steep, making it a pricey option for what some consider limited heating and fan power compared to specialized units.
Pros
- •Combines air purifier, heater, and fan into one sleek, space-saving device for year-round use.
- •Advanced HEPA filtration captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, which is great for allergy sufferers and improving indoor air quality.
- •Intelligent sensors monitor air quality and pollutants, including VOCs and gases like natural gas, providing valuable safety alerts not found in standard air purifiers.
- •The app is user-friendly (especially on iPhone), enabling quick connection, remote control of most features, and detailed air quality updates, including outdoor air info.
- •Air Multiplier™ technology efficiently circulates clean air quietly and evenly throughout small to medium rooms, with 350° oscillation and adjustable airflow angles.
- •Heats rooms effectively and quietly, quickly raising temperature in large or oddly shaped spaces without excessive energy use.
- •Provides good real-time air quality monitoring with clear particulate detection on the display, adding peace of mind.
- •Easy to assemble and operate with intuitive controls and solid build quality.
Cons
- •The price is steep, making it a pricey option for what some consider limited heating and fan power compared to specialized units.
- •App control notably excludes heat adjustment, requiring use of the physical remote for temperature changes, which diminishes smart convenience.
- •Some users report annoying high-pitched whistling or fan noises, especially when heating, and occasional mechanical issues causing scraping or clunking sounds over time.
- •Reliability concerns have surfaced, including recurring faults and unsatisfactory warranty service that can tarnish ownership experience.
- •Not ideal for large rooms over about 300 sqft; it may struggle to quickly purify heavily contaminated air or replace a traditional fan for quiet sleeping.
- •Air quality data from the app can seem generic or unconvincing, which undermines trust in some of the pollution readings provided.
- •The screen size is small, limiting at-a-glance info, and lack of HomeKit or full smart heat control limits integration with some smart home setups.
- •Refurbished units have drawn backlash for poor condition and disappointing customer support.
