Some people, though, have had issues with the remote control. It seems that it sometimes doesn’t sync properly with the unit, but these hiccups can often be sorted out with a bit of troubleshooting or by getting a replacement.
Thankfully, a lot of people switch to using the Dreo mobile app instead, which seems like a worthwhile workaround. The app lets you control the air conditioner from your phone and keeps things running smoothly as long as you've got a compatible network. Many find the app straightforward to use and a handy alternative if the remote’s playing up.
Another thing people really like is how quietly the air conditioner runs—it’s great at cooling without making a racket, so you can relax without any extra noise. Plus, it comes with some smart features like voice control that fit right in if you're into home automation.

This is worth noting because R-32 has a lower global warming potential than the traditional R-410A refrigerant. Plus, it helps the unit cool more efficiently, which means quicker cooling with less energy used—better for both your comfort and the environment.

The Dreo 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner seems to be pretty quiet, which is great if you're planning to use it in spaces like a bedroom or an office. According to our research, it operates comfortably even when set to lower fan speeds, making it less likely to disturb your environment.
The manufacturer doesn't specify the exact decibel level, but it tends to be quieter than your usual portable air conditioner. This means you'll get a cooler room without that constant background hum that can sometimes be annoying.
It seems part of its quieter operation comes from its efficient design—likely using a less intrusive fan and smarter airflow. Our data shows people appreciate that it doesn't dominate the room with noise when cooling or dehumidifying, so you can still chat, work, or relax without interruption.
Keep in mind, the noise levels might change depending on the settings you use. Higher fan speeds naturally create more noise, but sticking to the lower settings usually keeps things nice and peaceful. If you're really sensitive to noise, using it in larger spaces and sticking to those lower settings might help tone things down even more.
