TLDR Review: DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V Blower DCBL772X1
Verdict
The DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Blower is a powerhouse cordless blower that delivers gas-level performance with all the convenience of battery power. Its combination of high CFM and MPH, variable speed control, and maintenance-free operation makes it highly appealing for professionals and serious DIYers. However, short battery life and the high cost of batteries mean you'll want to invest in at least one additional 9Ah FLEXVOLT battery and faster charger for sustained work. If runtime and comfort over long use are priorities, consider complementing it with aftermarket mounts or looking for backpack blower alternatives. Overall, if you want raw power and cordless freedom with Dewalt’s ecosystem compatibility, this blower is a top-tier choice.
- Top pro:
- Extremely powerful blower that outperforms many gas models and competitors like Milwaukee, delivering up to 600 CFM and 125 MPH airflow.
- Top con:
- Battery life is somewhat limited, generally lasting about 20-30 minutes per charge at full power; heavy users will likely need a second battery.
Pros
- •Extremely powerful blower that outperforms many gas models and competitors like Milwaukee, delivering up to 600 CFM and 125 MPH airflow.
- •Instant starts with no fuss—no gas, pull starts, or mixing required, making it very convenient and user-friendly.
- •Brushless motor design maximizes efficiency, providing strong power while extending runtime compared to other cordless blowers.
- •Comes with a versatile 20V/60V MAX FLEXVOLT 9Ah battery that works across Dewalt’s 20V and 60V MAX tools, adding system flexibility.
- •Decent runtime of roughly 20-30 minutes per charge at full power, enough for typical job sites, driveways, or deck cleanups.
- •Variable speed trigger with a speed lock allows precise control over blower power.
- •Design improvements include a rear handle for two-handed use and safer intake placement, preventing clothes or debris from getting caught.
- •Maintenance-free operation with no gas or oil means less hassle and lower ongoing costs.
- •Lightweight and easy to handle for shorter periods despite some balance quirks.
- •Supports aftermarket accessories like mounts and nozzles for customization.
Cons
- •Battery life is somewhat limited, generally lasting about 20-30 minutes per charge at full power; heavy users will likely need a second battery.
- •The included 9Ah battery is expensive, and batteries tend to wear out faster with heavy blower use.
- •The kit does not include a compatible fast charger for the 9Ah FLEXVOLT battery—only a 20V charger, which slows recharge time.
- •Heavier and more rear-heavy than some cordless blowers, causing arm fatigue during extended use.
- •No built-in battery charge indicator, low battery warning, or convenient storage stands/hangers.
- •Longer runtime and better weight distribution would benefit from a backpack battery design or remote battery option.
- •Recharge time of about one hour for batteries may interrupt longer tasks without a second battery.
- •Balance feels awkward because most of the weight is in the rear handle area, reducing comfort over long use.
