TLDR Review: Delta Tub and Shower Trim Kit, Brushed Nickel
Verdict
While the Danco 10004 Trim Kit offers a stylish update with its brushed nickel finish, its compatibility issues with Delta valves, poor fitment, and lower-quality materials make it less desirable. Consider OEM Delta parts for better durability and performance if a seamless fit and quality finish are priorities.
- Top pro:
- The metal sleeve and handle enhance the faucet's aesthetic compared to the original.
- Top con:
- The trim kit does not fit Delta valves properly, especially those designed for wall installation.
Pros
- •The metal sleeve and handle enhance the faucet's aesthetic compared to the original.
- •The brushed nickel finish gives an updated look to older faucet designs.
Cons
- •The trim kit does not fit Delta valves properly, especially those designed for wall installation.
- •The backing plate protrudes instead of sitting flush against the wall, requiring risky modifications.
- •Provided screws are too short, and longer screws don't resolve the sealing issue.
- •Handles can be difficult to operate due to insufficient clearance post-installation.
- •The product uses lower-quality materials like plastic instead of metal, compromising durability.
- •The 'brushed nickel' color may not match other products from the same manufacturer.
- •Installation instructions are confusing and reference non-existent parts.
- •The Allen-wrench set screw on the metal handle is prone to stripping, complicating installation.
- •The product description is misleading, as components don't match the advertised appearance.
