TLDR Review: Delta Silverton Towel Ring
Verdict
The Delta Faucet 132889 Silverton Towel Ring has an attractive design but suffers from poor functionality and installation issues that result in frequent instability. Consider seeing it in person before purchasing or opting for alternatives known for better quality and assembly ease, such as those with a secure tension screw. The Silverton series may be appealing aesthetically, but the need for consistent modifications and potential for wall damage make it a less favorable choice for users seeking reliable bathroom hardware.
- Top pro:
- Attractive and aesthetically pleasing design, complementing various bathroom decors.
- Top con:
- Overall dissatisfaction with functionality; lacks a tension screw critical for secure mounting.
Pros
- •Attractive and aesthetically pleasing design, complementing various bathroom decors.
- •The entire Silverton collection, including towel rings, robe hooks, and bars, performs well when securely mounted to a stud.
- •Solid and substantial feel of the ring can provide a quality experience.
Cons
- •Overall dissatisfaction with functionality; lacks a tension screw critical for secure mounting.
- •The towel ring detaches easily from the wall, especially when pressure is applied, due to poor mounting clip design.
- •Installation is challenging, often requiring modifications or professional help to avoid wall damage.
- •Supplied plastic drywall anchors do not allow the base to sit flush against the wall, causing instability and wobbling.
- •Differences in material quality between the ring and mounting parts contribute to an overall cheap feel.
- •Notable quality differences compared to higher-end collections such as Delta's Chamberlain.
- •Misleading photos on online platforms, making in-person purchase advisable to ensure quality assessment.
