TLDR Review: Craftsman V20 Stick Vacuum
Verdict
The Craftsman V20 Cordless Stick Vacuum is a versatile and user-friendly choice for quick clean-ups around the home, car, or garage, especially given its lightweight design and battery interchangeability. It performs well on various surfaces, offering impressive run-time and effective pet hair pickup, making it a solid option for light to moderate cleaning tasks. However, if you're seeking a more powerful suction or a more advanced filtration system, you might want to check out alternatives like the Shark Rocket, which offers stronger suction and better filtration. For users who prioritize convenience, battery flexibility, and a quick, lightweight solution, this vacuum delivers good value and reliable performance.
- Top pro:
- Offers nearly the same performance as a corded vacuum, with strong suction and long run-time
- Top con:
- Suction, while decent, might not be quite as strong as some corded models or higher-end cordless vacuums like Sharks
Pros
- •Offers nearly the same performance as a corded vacuum, with strong suction and long run-time
- •Compatible with existing Craftsman V20 batteries, making it easy to swap batteries and extend cleaning sessions
- •Stands upright by itself for convenient storage without disconnecting parts
- •Lightweight and easy to maneuver, especially helpful for stairs and tight spaces
- •Bright headlights improve visibility for detailed cleaning
- •Multiple attachments and 3 power settings provide versatility for various surfaces and tasks
- •Easy to clean with a washable filter and simple dust container disassembly
- •Efficient on both hardwood and carpet, including pet hair removal
- •Battery life is impressive; a 2Ah battery can handle large areas, and 4Ah batteries boost runtime
- •Affordable replacement batteries and straightforward swapping enhance convenience
Cons
- •Suction, while decent, might not be quite as strong as some corded models or higher-end cordless vacuums like Sharks
- •Rinsing the washable filter can cause unpleasant odors (wet dog smell) and side air blowing; air compressor recommended for cleaning instead
- •Not intended for heavy-duty, full-sized cleaning—more of a quick touch-up tool
- •The filter setup is basic; it lacks the advanced HEPA filtration found in some competitors like Shark Rocket
- •Does not lock in upright storage, which could be less stable for some users
- •Powerhead's low profile is great, but the suction may decline with extended use or on thicker carpets
