TLDR Review: CRAFTSMAN Tow Broadcast Spreader
Verdict
This spreader offers decent capacity and some responsiveness from customer support, but its overall build quality and durability are questionable. Most reviews highlight early failure, plastic fragility, and setup challenges. If you’re planning frequent or large-area use, you might want to consider a more robust option that’s better suited for heavy-duty tasks, such as <component-button-product identifierProduct="another-product-12345">, which is known for sturdier construction and more consistent performance.

Pros
- •Very sturdy and functions adequately once assembled
- •Made with a hopper design that is durable and supports a good capacity
- •Company provided quick replacement parts, indicating responsive customer support
- •Assembly can be straightforward, though it requires patience and attention to detail
Cons
- •Drop settings are inaccurate and require trial-and-error adjustments
- •Assembly is difficult due to missing hardware, poorly cut holes, and confusing instructions
- •Notably flimsy construction; plastic parts are prone to breaking quickly, such as the drive gear holder and plastic sleeve
- •The product often fails early, with issues like broken support shafts and flat tires within days of use
- •Hopper cannot reliably hold full 110 lbs of fertilizer; it often piles up or blocks flow
- •Small wheels and close spacing make it unstable on inclined or rough terrain, risking tipping
- •Fertilizer spreading is overly sensitive, risking lawn damage if not carefully calibrated
- •The overall build quality feels cheap and poorly designed, despite the product's intended durability
- •Assembly may require extra tools like magnifying glasses, and some parts might be missing or require modifications
- •The hitch tube is weak and cannot support weight at an angle, limiting usability
