TLDR Review: CORSAIR 4500X PC Case
Verdict
The CORSAIR Frame 4500X RS-R ARGB case is a beautifully designed, spacious, and robust mid-tower that prioritizes airflow, build flexibility, and premium aesthetics. It’s ideal for builders who want a showcase PC with excellent cooling and cable management, especially if you plan to use or add iCUE lighting controls via a hub. Just be ready to accommodate its larger footprint and consider that ARGB control requires a little extra setup. For those seeking a high-end, visually striking case with advanced mounting options and cooling support, this is a very compelling choice. If you want something with native iCUE fan integration out of the box, you might want to explore other Corsair models that come pre-equipped with iCUE-enabled fans, but for spaciousness and style, the 4500X stands tall.
- Top pro:
- The CORSAIR Frame 4500X boasts a spacious interior, easily accommodating large motherboards, dual 360mm radiators, and high-end components, making it perfect for serious PC builders.
- Top con:
- The case is notably large and heavier than some might expect, potentially making placement in tighter setups challenging.
Pros
- •The CORSAIR Frame 4500X boasts a spacious interior, easily accommodating large motherboards, dual 360mm radiators, and high-end components, making it perfect for serious PC builders.
- •The InfiniRail mounting system adds impressive convenience and flexibility, including a sliding mount for water coolers and large top fans.
- •It comes with a rotating PCIe slot mounting plate and a GPU anti-sag support bracket, which help maintain both aesthetics and hardware integrity.
- •Excellent airflow is ensured thanks to 3 included quiet RS120R fans and multiple fan mounting points, keeping overclocked hardware cool without excessive noise.
- •Cable management is thoughtfully implemented, featuring plenty of tie points and pre-installed Velcro straps, making build organization neat and straightforward.
- •The panoramic tempered glass side panel is a standout, smoothly sliding in and out while providing stunning visibility of internal components from all angles.
- •Front USB ports and power button functions are reliable and easy to access.
- •The case’s build quality is solid with sturdy steel and tempered glass materials, exuding a sleek, understated, and premium look.
- •The design includes a subtle white magnetic strip to cover gaps around the motherboard, adding to the clean aesthetic.
- •Support for iCUE fans can be added later through an iCUE hub installed behind the motherboard plate, offering RGB customization flexibility (though not out of the box).
Cons
- •The case is notably large and heavier than some might expect, potentially making placement in tighter setups challenging.
- •Initial assembly may feel a bit loose on some panels, though this improves with use.
- •Native ARGB control does not support Corsair iCUE software without additional hardware (like the iCUE hub), so users relying solely on iCUE for lighting synchronization might find this limiting initially.
- •The white magnetic strip designed to conceal gaps can be affected by the GPU support bracket’s orientation, which may slightly impact the clean look depending on your build configuration.
