TLDR Review: Chervon 20V 5Ah Battery
Verdict
This battery is genuinely a roll of the dice. While the overall reliability numbers look solid and you've got a 2-year warranty as backup, we're seeing enough reviews describing catastrophic failures—batteries dying in the first month, leaking materials, and refusing to charge—to suggest there's a real quality control problem. Some folks get reliable units that work great; others get duds that fail repeatedly within their first year. Customer service will replace defective units, but that's cold comfort when you're stuck in the middle of a project with a dead battery.
- Top pro:
- Only 2 failures out of 25+ battery packs—solid reliability when you get a good one
- Top con:
- Inconsistent quality control—some batteries die within 25 hours of use or fail within 8-12 months despite new out of the box
Pros
- •Only 2 failures out of 25+ battery packs—solid reliability when you get a good one
- •2-year warranty that's straightforward to claim
- •Multiple capacity options (2AH, 4AH, 5AH) across 12V and 20V platforms to match your tool needs
- •4-5AH models deliver substantial runtime for heavy-duty tools like sawzalls and circular saws
- •Built-in USB charging port for charging external devices
- •Compatible with an extensive range of compatible tools and accessories
Cons
- •Inconsistent quality control—some batteries die within 25 hours of use or fail within 8-12 months despite new out of the box
- •Batteries leak black material during use and eventually stop accepting charges
- •Systemic quality concerns mean you could get either a reliable unit or a lemon with no way to know beforehand
- •Warranty replacements don't address the underlying product reliability issues
