TLDR Review: Charmin Ultra Soft Toilet Paper
Verdict
Charmin Toilet Paper Ultra Soft Cushiony Touch serves up top-tier plushness and absorbency with the convenience of mega-sized rolls that keep you stocked for longer. However, the recent changes to the tear design and sheet size have introduced some usability hiccups—especially if you dislike uneven tears or face sensitive skin issues. If the jumbo volume feels like overkill or you want a more robust tear performance, consider trying the **Charmin Ultra Strong Toilet Paper, 6 Mega Rolls = 24 Regular Rolls**, which offers a slightly firmer touch with easier tearing in a more manageable pack size.
- Top pro:
- Incredibly soft and gentle, offering exceptional comfort for all skin types.
- Top con:
- The new "Smooth Tear" wavy perforations are inconsistent, leading to uneven and ragged tears.
Pros
- •Incredibly soft and gentle, offering exceptional comfort for all skin types.
- •Durable and absorbent 2-ply sheets that clean effectively with less usage.
- •Family Mega Rolls are generously sized, lasting much longer than standard rolls.
- •Septic-safe and clog-free, making it plumbing-friendly and environmentally responsible.
- •Despite softness, the paper resists tearing fairly well and holds up during use.
- •Updated wavy perforations add a bit of style to the design.
- •Many users feel it balances comfort and reliability better than other premium brands.
Cons
- •The new "Smooth Tear" wavy perforations are inconsistent, leading to uneven and ragged tears.
- •Some users report difficulty knowing where to tear, causing frustration and waste.
- •Sheets are slightly smaller than previous versions, which some find less convenient.
- •Excessive lint shedding leaves small bits or "lint balls" behind after use.
- •The ultra-soft formula may cause irritation or discomfort for users with sensitive skin or medical conditions.
- •The overly soft texture may compromise perforation quality, making folding and tearing awkward.
- •The large 18-pack family size can be too bulky for smaller households or limited storage spaces.
- •Pricing is on the higher side compared to less premium alternatives.
- •Some users preferred the older version’s straight perforations for cleaner tearing.
