TLDR Review: Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 114AZ Telescope
Verdict
The Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 114AZ is a solid choice for beginner astronomers who want a straightforward, app-guided way to explore the night sky without breaking the bank. It excels at lunar observation and offers decent views of planets visible to the naked eye but falls short for detailed planetary or deep-sky work. If you’re looking for a compact, easy-to-use telescope with smartphone integration, this model can deliver, although you’ll have to tolerate some shakiness and occasional app glitches. For those who want finer adjustments or more stability, considering a larger telescope or an upgraded tripod might be worthwhile. Overall, it’s a fun entry-level device that’s best suited for casual stargazing and learning the basics.
