TLDR Review: BLACK+DECKER LSW221 Leaf Blower
Verdict
The BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Cordless Leaf Blower (LSW221) shines as a lightweight, easy-to-use tool that’s perfect for quick yard cleanups, blowing off decks, sidewalks, and light debris. It’s great for casual users who want convenience without the bulk or noise of a larger blower. However, if you need heavy-duty blowing power or longer battery life, this might leave you wanting more. For those with bigger yards or serious leaf cleanup needs, considering a model with more battery capacity or stronger airflow could be smarter. If battery life and blowing power are your priorities, you might want to explore other BLACK+DECKER models or brands that focus on longer runtimes or higher CFM performance.
- Top pro:
- Small, lightweight, and extremely easy to carry and handle, especially for quick or small yard jobs.
- Top con:
- Battery life is relatively short, often running down quickly, which limits heavy or prolonged use.
Pros
- •Small, lightweight, and extremely easy to carry and handle, especially for quick or small yard jobs.
- •Effective at blowing dust, dirt, leaves, grass clippings, and light debris off various hard surfaces like decks, sidewalks, garages, porches, and driveway areas.
- •Durable construction that holds up well for ongoing use.
- •Battery system charges faster than expected and includes a clear indicator light to show when fully charged.
- •Runs smoothly for at least 15 minutes without slowdown, which is longer than some older models.
- •Curved nozzle design helps improve blowing angle, reducing strain from bending over.
- •Compatible with the BLACK+DECKER MAX battery series, allowing convenient battery swaps.
- •Quiet operation at about 61 dB, making it less intrusive.
- •Versatile for multiple seasons, including light snow blowing.
- •Simple and user-friendly operation with minimal assembly.
Cons
- •Battery life is relatively short, often running down quickly, which limits heavy or prolonged use.
- •Air speed is fast but the volume or “push” is limited, meaning it’s more suited for light debris rather than heavy leaves or large piles.
- •Functions more like a push broom replacement than a powerful leaf blower, so don’t expect to clear big yard work efficiently.
- •Replacement batteries tend to be somewhat expensive.
- •Not the best choice for heavy-duty or extended leaf blowing tasks.
- •Some users would prefer a higher capacity battery for longer runtime.
