TLDR Review: Bestway Floating Pool Cover
Verdict
This Bestway floating pool cover offers a budget-friendly way to protect small pools from debris and animals, but it’s not built to last long. Reinforcing it with clips or bungee cords is advisable, and be prepared for potential tearing or displacement in windy weather. For more durability and security, a hard cover or heavy-duty option may be preferable. Ideal for occasional, short-term use at an affordable price.
- Top pro:
- Affordable and good value for basic pool covering needs
- Top con:
- Material is thin and prone to tearing, especially at seams and corners

Cons
- •Material is thin and prone to tearing, especially at seams and corners
- •Included tie strings are weak; often come undone or are too short
- •The cover tends to come loose in windy conditions, needing frequent adjustment
- •Corners lack grommet holes, causing the tarp to fly up without added support
- •Small plastic pieces shed into the pool water after sun exposure
- •Collapses or slips off easily without additional securing methods
- •The nine "breath" holes allow dirt and debris to enter when the pool is not in use
- •Not designed for long-term durability beyond a single season or incident
- •Rocks or weights used to hold it down can fall into the pool, creating mess
- •The tarp style doesn’t fit as snugly as a hard cover, and the edges can shift or lift
