TLDR Review: Beats Solo 4 Headphones
Verdict
If you’re embedded in the Apple ecosystem and crave stylish on-ear headphones with loud, bass-forward sound and marathon battery life, Beats Solo 4 is a solid choice that blends fashion and function. However, don’t expect noise cancellation or the perfect fit if you need one that’s less snug or more comfortable for long listening sessions. For better noise isolation and premium sound quality, especially if you’re an audiophile or want active noise cancellation, consider stepping up to the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones instead—they’re the gold standard for immersive, balanced sound and noise blocking.
- Top pro:
- Delivers impressive sound quality with clear tones and deep, punchy bass that’s especially enjoyable for genres like rock, hip-hop, EDM, and pop.
- Top con:
- No active noise cancellation—ambient sounds remain noticeable, so these aren’t the best choice if you want to fully block out your environment.
Pros
- •Delivers impressive sound quality with clear tones and deep, punchy bass that’s especially enjoyable for genres like rock, hip-hop, EDM, and pop.

- •Snug, comfortable fit that stays in place well, although it might feel tight for some users.
- •Seamless and easy Bluetooth connection, especially with Apple devices, thanks to Apple’s chip technology.
- •Stylish matte black design matching product images, with a compact, lightweight, and foldable form that makes portability a breeze.
- •Built-in controls on both earpieces provide convenient adjustment without reaching for the device.
- •Offers spatial audio support and dynamic head tracking for immersive listening, particularly on Apple Music.
- •Value for price compared to other premium options; many users appreciate the Beats branding and aesthetics alongside solid performance.
Cons
- •No active noise cancellation—ambient sounds remain noticeable, so these aren’t the best choice if you want to fully block out your environment.
- •Tightly fitting design can be uncomfortable for longer wear or for users who wear glasses; some recommend taking breaks during extended use.
- •Some users report less than stellar bass or sound quality, citing inadequate volume or flat audio on certain devices.
- •A few complaints about connectivity hiccups or sluggish button responsiveness, though these appear to be exceptions rather than the rule.
- •Not compatible with some devices like certain Samsung smart TVs without extra adapters.
- •Lack of auditory indicators for power on/off or switching devices can cause minor frustrations.
- •No wireless charging support, and some mention missing chargers or charging issues in a small percentage of cases.
