TLDR Review: Apple 40W Power Adapter
Verdict
The Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is an excellent choice if you want a compact, reliable fast charger optimized for the latest iPhones, iPads, and certain MacBooks with short bursts of higher power. Its intelligent power adjustment and solid build mean you get a safe and efficient charger that fits perfectly in an Apple-centric lifestyle. However, if you need longer sustained high wattage for bigger laptops or want multi-device charging, you might want to look beyond this adapter or consider a higher wattage charger designed for MacBooks specifically. You can explore other Apple power adapters if you need more sustained power or additional ports for multiple-device charging.
- Top pro:
- Charges iPhones (including the latest iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and Pro Max) and compatible iPads/MacBooks extremely fast, reaching 20% to 80% charge in under 30 minutes.
- Top con:
- The 60W max output is only temporary; it throttles down to 40W after about 20 minutes, which may be insufficient for some power-hungry MacBooks or other devices requiring sustained high wattage.
