AirPods Pro 3 include five ear tip sizes: XXS, XS, S, M (pre-installed), and L. This is one more size than Pro 2, with XXS helping those with smaller ear canals.
New Design
Pro 3 tips use foam-infused silicone that molds better to your ear while maintaining durability. This improves both sound quality and noise cancellation.
Compatibility Note
Pro 3 tips are not interchangeable with Pro 2. Apple changed the shape and attachment mechanism.
Finding Your Size
- Start with medium (pre-installed)
- Run Ear Tip Fit Test: Settings > [Your AirPods] > Ear Tip Fit Test
- Try different sizes if you do not get "Good Seal"
- Different sizes for each ear is normal
Signs of Wrong Size
Too small: Poor bass, weak ANC, loose fit Too large: Discomfort, pressure, pushing sensation
Replacements
Apple sells replacement tips for .95 per set (two pairs of one size). Third-party foam tips from brands like Comply provide better workout grip but slightly change sound profile.
Tip
Size preference may vary by activity. Some users prefer smaller tips for comfort and larger tips during workouts for security.
