The LG GP65NB60 is a reliable choice if you're mostly dealing with CDs and DVDs. Just keep in mind, according to the manufacturer's description, it doesn't support Blu-ray discs. Our research shows that some folks wish it had Blu-ray capabilities, so if that’s a must for you, you might want to look elsewhere.

That said, for CDs and DVDs, it does the job nicely. The read and write speeds are generally solid for typical tasks. Plus, the manufacturer mentions it supports M-DISC technology, which is great if you need to preserve data for a long time.

It's a plug-and-play setup, so you won't have to mess around with any extra drivers, and it works well with different devices.

The drive also comes with software for disc burning if you want to do more complex stuff, but you don't have to install it for basic use. So, if you're after something simple for CD/DVD burning and playback, this drive should do just fine.

But if Blu-ray is on your list, you’ll need to check out other options. Something like the Pioneer BDR-XD05B could be a better fit since it handles Blu-ray media.

To sum it up, if you're sticking with CDs and DVDs, the LG GP65NB60 is a dependable pick with good performance. Just make sure you don't need Blu-ray support, and you should be all set for your standard media tasks.
