The Furbo Dog Camera comes with some really handy features for pet owners who want to keep an eye on their pets when they're not home. Here's a quick rundown based on the manufacturer's description and our research:
-
Cloud-Based Storage: Instead of having a memory card slot, Furbo offers cloud storage through the Furbo Dog Nanny subscription. This includes things like cloud recordings and a 'Doggie Diary' that highlights your pet’s day.
-
Real-Time Monitoring: You can use the Furbo app to watch a live video feed, snap screenshots, and record videos. So you can easily check in on your pet anytime you want.
-
Barking Alerts: One cool feature is its barking detection. If your dog starts barking, you'll get an instant notification on your phone, so you can see what's going on.
-
Two-Way Audio: Furbo has a built-in mic and speaker, letting you talk to your pet. This can be great for soothing a nervous dog or giving commands.
-
Treat Tossing: The treat dispenser is pretty fun. You can fill it with your dog's favorite treats and toss them remotely using the app.
-
Person Detection: The camera can recognize when a person is in the frame and send you alerts, adding an extra layer of security.
Keep in mind, some of these advanced features like cloud storage, barking alerts, and person detection are part of the Furbo Dog Nanny subscription. They do offer a free one-month trial, but if you want to keep using them, you'll need to subscribe.
So, while the lack of local storage and the need for a subscription might be a downside for some, the Furbo Dog Camera's features for real-time monitoring and interaction with your pet make it a pretty solid option.
