The SHOKZ OpenRun Pro offers a different kind of listening experience compared to traditional headphones because it uses bone conduction technology. Instead of sitting in or over your ears, they send sound through your cheekbones, so your ears are open to hear what's happening around you.
From our research, it seems that folks generally find the sound clear and crisp, especially in moderate settings. The manufacturer highlights a feature called PremiumPitch 2.0+ technology, which enhances the sound quality, particularly when it comes to bass. This helps a bit, as bone conduction headphones can have some sound limitations compared to regular headphones.
For things like podcasts and audiobooks, the OpenRun Pro does a great job, and it's pretty decent for music as long as you're not cranking up the volume too high. However, if you're an audiophile or someone who's all about deep bass and immersive sound, traditional headphones might still be your best bet since they typically offer richer sound.
Where the SHOKZ OpenRun Pro really shines is in activities like jogging or cycling. They let you enjoy your audio while staying aware of your surroundings, which is great for safety.
So, it might not beat high-end headphones in sound quality, but it's awesome for people who need to stay aware of their environment during activities.
And just a heads up, if you're worried about connectivity, it shouldn't be an issue. They're equipped with Bluetooth 5.1, so you should get a stable connection with most modern devices, as mentioned by the manufacturer.
