Why 7-Year Support Matters
Security
Without security patches, phones become vulnerable to exploits. Banking apps, payment systems, and sensitive data become at risk.
App Compatibility
New app versions eventually drop support for older Android versions. Ongoing updates ensure apps continue working.
Resale Value
Phones with remaining update support command higher resale prices. A 3-year-old Z Fold 7 will still have 4 years of updates left.
Cost Justification
At $1,999, seven years of support means ~$285/year for a flagship foldable that stays current and secure.
Samsung's Update Track Record
Samsung now delivers major Android updates within weeks of Google's Pixel phones. Monthly security patches arrive reliably. The company has invested significantly in update infrastructure, moving from "slow" to industry-leading.
For a premium device, this long-term software commitment provides peace of mind that your investment is protected.
