Putting together the True Temper 193055510 Telescoping Snow Roof Rake isn't too tricky, but there are a couple of things you should watch out for.
From what we've gathered, a lot of folks manage to assemble it without too much hassle. The rake is made from aluminum, which keeps it light and easy to maneuver as you're clearing snow off the roof. The pieces generally fit together pretty well, and you can extend it up to 17 feet, which is handy for reaching high spots. The manufacturer's instructions seem fairly straightforward, so following them carefully should help.
There are a few things to keep an eye on, especially regarding the durability of the connections. Some have noted issues with the rake head snapping where it meets the handle, although this isn't super common. To avoid this, make sure all parts are securely fastened during assembly. It might be a good idea to periodically check everything and apply a locking compound to bolts to keep them in place.
When it comes to using the rake, many say it does a good job clearing snow. The grip on the lower sections of the pole helps, especially if you're wearing gloves. The oval-shaped handle is also a bit more stable when everything's tightened properly.
Some folks have run into trouble with the button mechanisms for telescoping and locking the rake in cold weather. These buttons can freeze or become hard to press, so taking extra care in low temperatures and regular maintenance might help with that.
All in all, if you follow the instructions and make sure everything's tightened, assembling and using the True Temper snow roof rake should be pretty straightforward.
