📱The honest answer: No, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is not compatible with iPhone.
The Galaxy Watch 8 requires Google Play services for setup and full functionality, which iPhone doesn't support. Here's what this means in practice:
Why iPhone Users Can't Use Galaxy Watch 8
- The Galaxy Wearable app (required for setup) is Android-only
- Samsung Health data sync doesn't work with iOS
- Health features like blood pressure and ECG require Samsung/Android phones
- Gemini AI assistant needs Google services
Third-Party Workarounds Exist, But...
Services like Merge Watch claim to connect Galaxy Watch to iPhone, offering:
- Basic notification forwarding
- Call answering capability
However, these unofficial solutions are unreliable, may break with updates, and provide only a fraction of the watch's capabilities.
What You'd Lose Without Android
- Samsung Health integration and Energy Score
- Blood pressure monitoring
- ECG and sleep apnea detection
- Full Gemini AI functionality
- Seamless notification management
- SmartThings home control
