The iDesign Formbu Bamboo Floor Mat is built with water resistance in mind, which makes it a solid option for places like bathrooms. The manufacturer describes it as made from natural bamboo, with a water-resistant coating and a fabric border to help prevent slipping.
There's also a non-skid underside to keep it steady on floors like wood, carpet, or tile, which is super handy for bathrooms.
But here's the thing: according to our research, opinions are mixed about its slipperiness when wet. While plenty of folks love how it looks and initially functions, some mention that the top surface can be slippery if it gets wet. One person noted slipping when stepping on it right after a shower, which means that while the mat itself might not move, the surface might get slick.
Aside from slipperiness, some feedback touches on durability issues. The mat's lightweight and good-looking but a few people have said it doesn't always hold up well over time, especially when it's exposed to water often. For instance, consistent water exposure can cause the bamboo strips to come loose, as one reviewer found.
So, if you're thinking about using this mat in your bathroom or any damp area, it might be a good idea to let it dry out between uses. Doing so could help keep it safe and prolong its durability.
