The iDesign Formbu Bamboo Floor Mat is made from bamboo and has a water-resistant coating, making it suitable for moist areas like bathrooms and kitchens. According to the manufacturer's description, it's built to resist water, which helps prevent damage and keeps it durable in wet spaces.
From what we've found, the mat generally lives up to these water-resistant claims. Many folks have mentioned that it's been holding up well in places like their bathrooms. The bamboo material seems to manage water exposure without wearing out quickly, and its fabric border helps the mat stay put on tile floors, which adds a bit of safety along with durability.
That said, not everyone has had the same experience. While most agree on its initial water resistance, a few people have concerns about how long it lasts, especially with frequent water exposure. Some have pointed out that the mat might not be as durable over time if it's not taken care of properly.
So, while it's designed to be water-resistant, regular maintenance seems important to keep it in good shape.
Also, just a heads-up—some folks mentioned noticing a rubbery smell when they first got it. This smell usually fades after the mat has aired out for a bit, so it’s not a long-term concern, just something temporary.
Overall, the iDesign Formbu Bamboo Floor Mat could work well in wet environments thanks to its design and materials. But to keep it lasting longer, you'll want to follow care guidelines and be ready for that initial smell when you first unpack it.
