If you're considering the Seagate Exos X22 22TB in its renewed version, you've got a few things to think about. Renewed drives are typically ones that have been returned, given a good clean and refresh, then put back on sale. Our research shows that they often reset to show zero power-on hours, which can make them seem almost brand new.
This drive has a massive 22TB storage capacity, which is super handy for places like data centers or big databases. Just remember, because of how systems calculate storage versus what's listed on the box, you might see around 20TB of usable space. This difference is pretty common across most hard drives, so nothing out of the ordinary for the Exos X22.
When it comes to reliability, opinions are a bit mixed but mostly positive. Many folks have found the drive to handle stress tests well and see it as reliable for heavy data crunching and transferring tasks.
That said, there are some mentions of drives arriving dead or failing soon after. This kind of risk is something to keep in mind with renewed products.
On the upside, those who faced issues often mentioned quick and satisfactory customer service and hassle-free exchanges. It's always a good idea to buy from a place that offers a strong warranty and good return policies.
In short, if you're going for the Seagate Exos X22 22TB renewed drive, make sure you’re buying from a reliable dealer with a solid warranty. This could help you avoid any major hiccups and keep things running smoothly for your enterprise needs.
