The Sea to Summit Permethrin-Treated Mosquito Head Net is pretty well-regarded for keeping mosquitoes and larger bugs away. It has 500 holes per square inch, which handles most mosquitoes well, though tiny ones like no-see-ums can sometimes get through.
A cool part about this net is the permethrin treatment, which works to keep insects from landing on it. While this treatment definitely boosts the net's effectiveness, our research shows that after a while and multiple uses, its potency might decrease. Some folks have noticed mosquitoes starting to land on the net over time.
It's light and easy to use, making it a good fit for things like hiking, fishing, and camping. The design allows it to drape over a hat comfortably, ensuring good airflow and visibility. Plus, it's easy to pack and carry around.
If you're heading somewhere with a lot of no-see-ums, you might need additional protection since they could sneak through the mesh. You might want to check out nets specifically made for these tiny insects, though they might not be as breathable.
Overall, the permethrin-treated net is a solid choice for defense against larger insects, and it's both comfy and convenient for outdoor adventures. Just keep in mind the mesh size if you're dealing with smaller bugs like no-see-ums.
