The autofocus on the Sony RX10 IV is pretty impressive and is often highlighted as one of the camera's standout features. Our research shows it's equipped with a Fast Hybrid AF system, which uses both phase-detection and contrast-detection methods to nail down focus quickly and accurately. This means it's really great for snapping pics of moving subjects.
It has a whopping 315 phase-detection autofocus points covering about 65% of the sensor. This wide coverage helps with tracking subjects and keeping your shots clear and in focus, even in dynamic or action-packed settings. So, if you're into photographing things like wildlife or sports, it's definitely designed with that in mind.
Another cool feature is the Eye AF, which locks onto a person's eyes with impressive accuracy. This is awesome for portraits or whenever you want to capture facial details.
From our research, people who use the RX10 IV often mention the autofocus system as one of its main strengths, noting its speed and precision. The real-time tracking is a big deal too, keeping up with unpredictable movements; especially useful in video recording for smooth focus shifts.
Plus, the camera offers customizable focus settings, so you can tweak things like focus area and sensitivity to suit what you're shooting and your style.
Overall, if a reliable and efficient autofocus is high on your list, the Sony RX10 IV delivers. Whether you're catching fast action or getting fine details in portraits, its autofocus system is likely going to impress you.
