The Renzetti Traveler 2200 Cam Series Vise (model C2203-R) is well-liked among fly tyers who appreciate its versatility with hook sizes ranging from 28 to 4/0. This feature is attributed to its easy-to-adjust cam jaws, as the manufacturer describes.
Now, about its rotary function—that's where this vise really shines. It lets you rotate the fly a full 360 degrees around the hook axis without needing to reposition or remove the hook. This makes it a lot easier to apply materials and check for symmetry in your work. Definitely a plus if you're into tying intricate patterns or just want a thorough look at your creation.
According to our research, folks who've used this vise find that the rotary feature speeds up and streamlines the tying process. The steady grip of the jaws means you can rotate the hook without worrying about it slipping, which is convenient for maintaining consistency while applying materials.
While it's on the pricier side, many think it's worth the investment because of its build quality and performance. Plus, it's made in the USA, which gives some peace of mind about its durability.
So if you're looking for a reliable and versatile vise for your fly tying needs, this model might be a good match for you.
