LDAC can transmit about three times more audio data than standard Bluetooth codecs. If you have an Android phone, it's worth enabling. iPhone users, Apple doesn't support LDAC.

How to turn on LDAC (Android):

1. Connect your XM6 to your phone
2. Go to Bluetooth settings
3. Tap the gear icon next to the XM6 listing
4. Look for "HD Audio" or "Bluetooth Audio Codec"
5. Select LDAC

Want maximum quality?

By default, Android uses adaptive bitrate, which adjusts between 330kbps, 660kbps, and 990kbps based on connection quality. To force maximum quality:

1. Enable Developer Options on your phone
2. Go to Developer Options > Bluetooth Audio Codec > LDAC
3. Find LDAC Playback Quality and select 990kbps

Warning: forcing 990kbps can cause stuttering in areas with heavy Bluetooth interference. Switch back to adaptive if you experience dropouts.

iPhone users:

Apple doesn't support LDAC, but Sony includes DSEE Extreme. It's an AI upscaler that restores detail to compressed audio from Spotify and Apple Music. Enable it in the Sony Sound Connect app under Sound Quality/Volume. It makes a noticeable difference with streaming audio.

One more setting:

In the Sony Sound Connect app, find "Bluetooth connection quality" and set it to prioritize "Sound quality" for the best audio, or "Stable connection" if you're experiencing dropouts.
