The Shark HP302 NeverChange Air Purifier MAX sounds pretty impressive overall, but there are a few things to consider. The HEPA filter and odor-neutralizing cartridge it uses are aimed at cleaning the air and tackling household smells.
The manufacturer claims that the HEPA filter can last up to five years, which could save quite a bit on replacement costs—potentially over $300. The odor-neutralizing cartridge is another story, though. Some people like the added scent, but others think it's too strong or not effective enough, especially against strong pet odors. This is based on what we've found from various user experiences.
For capturing particles like dust, pet dander, and allergens, the purifier seems to do a really good job. Many people have noticed a big difference in their air quality, both in how it feels and what the air quality indicators show.
But here's where it gets a bit tricky—the air quality sensor. Some folks have noticed that it sometimes reads the air as 100% clean all the time, which suggests there might be some calibration issues. Still, the fact that the purifier adjusts fan speeds automatically based on air quality is something many people appreciate.
In short, if you're looking to cut down on dust and allergens, this purifier looks like a solid choice. Just be aware that opinions are mixed on its odor control and sensor accuracy.
If those are big concerns for you, you might want to look into other options or read more reviews before deciding.
