The Dyson Ball Animal 3 does a pretty good job on thick carpets because of its powerful suction. From our research, it seems to really get into the fibers and pull out dirt and debris that other vacuums might miss on thick carpets.
Plus, it's designed to work well on different types of flooring, so you could use it on hardwood or tile too if you need to.
One thing folks consistently mention is how well it gets rid of pet hair from plush carpets, which is a common challenge for pet owners. So, if you've got pets leaving fur everywhere, it might be the right fit for you.
On the downside, the cord management isn't automatic. You have to wrap the cord around hooks by hand, unlike some models with the automatic retractable feature. Some people find this a bit tedious, especially if you're used to retractable cords.
But, the cord is pretty long, giving you plenty of reach.
Overall, if cleaning power on thick carpets is your main concern and you can deal with wrapping the cord manually, the Dyson Ball Animal 3 might be a solid pick.
But, if a retractable cord is something you can't live without, you might want to look into other options.
