Yep, the OXO Good Grips 3-Piece Angled Measuring Cups are safe to toss in the dishwasher, specifically on the top rack, according to the manufacturer's product description.
But from what we've gathered, results can vary. Many people find no problem cleaning them this way, but some have noted issues like the plastic getting warped or the measurement markings fading over time.
These issues might be related to different dishwasher settings, especially if yours runs quite hot. To keep your measuring cups looking and working their best, it's smart to follow the care tips from the manufacturer.
Here are a few things you can try:
-
Stick to the Top Rack: Always use the top rack in the dishwasher to minimize direct heat exposure.
-
Take a Good Look: Check the cups after washing for any changes or signs of wear, especially if your dishwasher is a hot one.
-
Hand Wash if Needed: If you see any warping or fading, hand washing might be a safer bet to help them last longer.
-
Watch the Heat: The manufacturer also cautions against using them in the microwave with fat-based substances, so avoid high heat in the dishwasher too.
So for most folks, top-rack dishwasher use is fine, but just keep an eye on the cups and maybe tweak your washing habits if you notice anything off.
Following these simple tips can help you get the most out of your measuring cups.
