- •Fanless Gen 2 design is significantly quieter than the previous generation model
- •Supports up to 8 PoE devices simultaneously with reliable performance over extended use
- •UniFi GUI management interface is fantastic with CLI option still available

- •Excellent choice for powering multiple UniFi access points, cameras, and other PoE-compatible devices
- •Integrates seamlessly with UniFi management ecosystem
- •Works right out of the box with no configuration or setup required
- •Strong ecosystem integration with other compatible network products
Cons
- •Gets quite warm under heavy PoE loads, requiring adequate spacing from other rack equipment for proper ventilation
- •Does not display internal temperature readings like other Ubiquiti devices
- •802.3bt PoE compatibility would be beneficial for future device expansion
- •No longer manufactured, making it difficult to replace or find alternatives
Bottom Line
The Ubiquiti USW-24-POE is an excellent value-packed managed switch that shines in Ubiquiti-centric networks and is particularly well-suited for powering multiple PoE devices like cameras and access points. The fanless design keeps things quiet, though it does run warm under heavy loads—so make sure you've got proper rack ventilation. The main caveat? Since this model is no longer being manufactured, availability may be limited. If you need a switch with better temperature monitoring or higher PoE capacity, you might want to check out Ubiquiti's newer Pro model variant, which offers 8 additional PoE ports and a higher PoE budget for more demanding setups.
