Pros
- •Durable enough to be used daily for years with minimal issues, showcasing excellent longevity.
- •Heats up quickly, allowing for immediate use and saving valuable project time.
- •Versatile cordless/corded design lets you work untethered for up to two minutes after heating, then plug in for uninterrupted use.
- •The fine detail tip offers precise glue application, perfect for crafting and delicate projects.
- •Simple, practical design that feels sturdy and reliable without unnecessary bulk or cheap materials.
- •Comes with a stand and silicone drip pad that help keep your workspace tidy and the glue contained during heating.
- •Off switch feature effectively maintains the right temperature to prevent glue leaks and mess when pausing work.
- •Recharge time is quick (about two minutes), so downtime is minimal.
- •Preferred by users for frequent, quality-focused crafting over other models that feel less reliable.
Cons
- •The stand only works in cordless mode; you cannot rest the gun on it while plugged in because the cord blocks the base.
- •Requires the glue gun to be placed on the stand to heat up before use, which may limit initial mobility.
- •Demands quick work once heated, as the glue can start to ooze if you take too long.
- •Needs regular cleaning to remove burnt glue buildup, or it can shorten the gun’s lifespan.
- •Glue sticks are not included, so you must buy them separately.
- •Lacks modern features like auto shut-off, which some newer, fancier cordless models offer.
- •Can feel a bit less convenient compared to some newer options with extended cordless runtime or better base design.
Bottom Line
The Surebonder CL-195F is a no-nonsense, durable glue gun that combines cordless flexibility with corded reliability, heating up fast and delivering precise, drip-free glue application. It’s best suited for users who want a practical, long-lasting tool for detailed crafting without needing the bells and whistles of more modern models. Just keep in mind the stand limitations and the need for occasional maintenance. If you want a similar glue gun with longer cordless use or a base that supports plugged-in resting, exploring other models might be worthwhile, but for solid performance and durability, this one’s a strong contender.
