- •Rock-solid suction mount that generally stays firmly in place when the locking mechanism is properly engaged
- •Built-in warm-water reservoir effectively prevents fogging during hot showers without needing reapplications or coatings
- •Mirror easily slides on and off its bracket for quick refilling without detaching the suction cup
- •Larger and clearer than typical fogless mirrors, providing better visibility without awkward positioning
- •Convenient clip-on, clip-off system makes maintenance simple
- •Built-in razor/shaver hook adds useful organization right in the shower
- •Durable and thoughtfully designed, resistant to breaking even if detached
- •Highly recommended for shaving in the shower, especially helpful for sensitive skin prone to ingrown hairs
- •Simple, innovative design works reliably with just warm water fill
Cons
- •Suction cups can be inconsistent—many users report poor sticking power and frequent detachment, especially for the basket accessory
- •The basket portion often fails to hold weight, such as toothbrushes or loofahs, leading to unexpected falls
- •Performance issues on both wet and dry surfaces reduce reliability of the suction mount
- •Reassembling the mirror after detachment requires care to properly seal the rubber gasket to prevent leaks
- •Some users wish there was a smaller, more travel-friendly size option
Bottom Line
The OXO GG Stronghold Suction Large Basket excels as a fogless shower mirror with a clever warm water reservoir and strong suction when engaged properly. However, the suction mechanism may be hit-or-miss, especially for the basket component which struggles to hold lighter items without falling off. If reliable suction is your top priority or you want a travel-sized option, you might want to explore alternatives. Otherwise, this is a durable, well-designed choice that makes shaving in the shower hassle-free for many users.
