Pros
- •Effectively seals food and stays sealed, outperforming regular plastic wrap.
- •Versatile solution for wrapping food or covering bowls; can be used in the refrigerator and microwave.
- •Offers convenience as a single product for multiple food storage and heating needs.
- •Considered significantly better than traditional saran wrap and provides a much easier sealing experience.
- •Successfully keeps half an onion fresh without a lingering smell in the fridge.
- •Allows for writing on the wrap, which is useful for tracking dates.
- •Highly effective and sticks better than other brands.
- •Works well for covering bowls for steaming and freezing pizza dough.
Cons
- •Replacement of the metal cutting edge with a flimsy plastic edge is ineffective, requiring scissors for cutting.
- •Frustration arises from the plastic serrated cutter, leading to ragged edges and product waste.
- •Poorly designed box causes plastic tines to come undone, complicating the tear-off process.
- •Multiple boxes show inconsistent cutting blade performance, indicating a lack of quality control.
- •Users previously loyal to the brand are considering switching due to packaging issues.
Bottom Line
The Glad Press'n Seal Wrap performs exceptionally well in sealing and preserving food beyond traditional plastic wraps. However, recent changes to the packaging, notably the ineffective plastic cutting edge, have caused frustration for many users. If the cutting mechanism is a deal-breaker, you might need to revert to scissors or explore alternative products. Despite this, when correctly cut, the wrap remains a reliable choice for versatile and airtight food storage.
