Bottom Line
The HomeBase S380 excels at what it does best: delivering stunning video quality and intelligent person detection. However, we'd be remiss not to mention the elephant in the room—this device has some serious network issues that make it a risky bet for anything beyond compact spaces. The WiFi interference, limited 30-foot range, and lack of smart home automation for family member detection are significant drawbacks that conflicted with many users' setups. If you live in a small space, have a simple network setup, and don't mind managing some manual camera configurations, this could be a solid choice. But if you have a larger home, multiple connected devices, or rely heavily on smart home automation, you'll likely encounter frustration. We'd recommend carefully assessing your home size and network complexity before committing.
