- •Compact and lightweight, making it very convenient for quick cleanups and small spot cleaning without the bulk of a traditional shop vac.
- •Highly efficient and effective for cleaning workspaces and homes, especially well-suited for dust, shavings, and drywall debris.
- •Compatible with the DEWALT 20V battery system, integrating smoothly with other DEWALT tools; best performance seen with 5Ah or larger batteries.
- •Reliable and consistent performance across multiple purchases, making it a trusted choice for professionals and serious DIYers alike.
- •Onboard storage for wide nozzle and crevice tool adds handy versatility and organization during use.
- •Battery life is sufficient to handle typical cleanup tasks, like cleaning a grill, with extra capacity left.
- •Enjoyed by skilled handiworkers and considered highly recommended for various light-duty cleaning tasks.
Cons
- •Suction power is noticeably weaker compared to traditional shop vacs, limiting its effectiveness on heavy dust or fast particle pick-up.
- •Not ideal for quick, heavy-duty cleanups — it struggles to efficiently pick up larger amounts of debris or fine dust quickly.
- •Does not include a brush tool, an omission that reduces versatility for some cleaning scenarios.
- •Lacks an included wand or extension piece, which would improve reach and maneuverability for certain tasks.
- •Some users found performance disappointing compared to other DEWALT products, especially regarding suction strength.
Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a *compact, lightweight cordless wet-dry vacuum* that integrates well into your DEWALT 20V tool ecosystem and handles everyday light-to-moderate cleanup tasks, this DEWALT DCV580H is a solid option. However, if you need serious suction power for heavy-duty shop cleanup or fast dust collection, this vacuum might leave you wanting more. In that case, considering a corded shop vac or a more powerful model might be wise. For users who want better suction and included tools like brushes and wands, keep an eye out for accessories or alternative shop vacs designed specifically for high-performance cleaning.
