🎚️ How to Set Default Search Filters in the Desktop App
Tell ShopSavvy your standing preferences once so every search applies them automatically.
If you always exclude used items, only want in-stock results, skip marketplace sellers, or prefer free shipping, you can set those once in Settings and the shopping assistant will apply them to every search.
How to Do It
- Open the Desktop app and go to Settings.
- Find the Default Search Filters section.
- Toggle on the filters you want applied to every search:
- Exclude used items — ignore refurbished, open-box, and used listings.
- In-stock only — hide out-of-stock offers.
- Exclude marketplace sellers — skip third-party sellers on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and similar.
- Prefer free shipping — sort offers so free-shipping options surface first.
- Save. From here on, every search the assistant runs respects these defaults.
Tips
- You can override a default filter inside any single conversation by telling the assistant something like "include used items this time".
- Combine with Retailer Preferences (Settings → Retailers) to fully shape which offers you ever see.
- If results feel sparse, try loosening one filter — In-stock only is the most common cause of short result lists during launches and sales.
