🏡 How to Research a Home Remodel on a Budget

Plan materials, fixtures, and tools with the shopping assistant before you swipe a card.

A remodel adds up fast. The shopping assistant helps you price out the pieces, find cheaper alternatives, and track things you will buy later.

How to Do It

  1. Open the shopping assistant.
  2. Describe the project and budget: "I am renovating a small bathroom for under $3,000" or "Kitchen refresh, cabinets and countertops only, budget $5,000".
  3. Ask for a category at a time: "Best budget bathroom vanities", "Faucets under $150", "Subway tile options".
  4. For each pick, tap Watch to get notified when the price drops.

What You Get Back

A running shortlist you can come back to as the project moves forward. The assistant will note when prices change and call out alternatives when a retailer starts discounting.

Tips

  • Break the remodel into rooms or categories so each prompt stays focused.
  • Ask "show me cheaper alternatives that look similar" when a pick is over budget.
  • Save products to a watched list so your partner or contractor can see what you are considering.
